So, just got a new coworker who is autistic...
Seems to think because of this we should put up with his shit...
I don't think so... At least don't use it as an excuse for being a wimpy ass.
Also, if you have a problem with someone, talk to him/her first, then their immediate supervisor, THEN go to management...
Also, give people an idea where you're going to be. If you're working a service case, then make sure you're not leaving one person. Especially if it is at the end of the night and that one person also has to do clean up.
Newbie, you are also bitching about someone who has a year's worth of seniority over you. He's been bitching the entire time and he's still there. Hell, just deal with it since he's damn good at cleaning the department.
Note: I'm not blasting autistic people. I'm not dismissing the condition and the fact that it does screw with your ability to interact with people. I am saying that you shouldn't hide behind it. If someone tells you to deal with it, learn from that experience. There will be people who don't give a shit about the fact that you have autism. They will treat you the same way they would a person without autism, which will suck ass since you will screw up and probably piss that person off. However, these people will blast someone who isn't autist for the same thing.
They will also blast you for using it as a crutch though.
I was taught that I shouldn't use an illness (epilepsy in my case) as a crutch. Of course my epilepsy doesn't affect my day to day life so that would be a difference.
